UiPath and Deloitte Jointly Awarded Several RPA Contracts with U.S. Government

Robotic process automation (RPA) provider UiPath and professional services giant Deloitte have been jointly awarded various automation contracts with the U.S. government, the companies announced this week.

In a statement, Deloitte characterized the projects as aimed at reducing costs while improving controls, compliance, and customer service through the use of a digital workforce of bots. Functions set to be increasingly automated include invoice processing, asset management, purchase requisition, financial reconciliation, new hire onboarding, and employee transfer processing.

UiPath, through its U.S. public sector division, has continued to see increasing interest from the federal government, according to practice area vice president Jonathan Padgett. “The U.S government can benefit from automation just like the private sector has,” said Padgett.

The big four auditing firm added that it now has 17 RPA projects with federal government agencies in defense, health, and other civilian areas. Marc Mancher, principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP, noted that his firm began working in the federal robotic process automation market two years ago.

“There was a lot of skepticism about what RPA could mean in terms of impact on service delivery and employee workloads,” said Mancher. “Over the past 12 months, we have seen consistent marketplace signals that federal agencies are ready to embrace RPA as a way to improve mission delivery. Working with UiPath, we’ve been able to demonstrate how quickly and affordably, RPA can make an impact for federal agencies.”
